The flight crew should apply the following procedure as per company policy, when the last passenger left the aircraft and the securing of the aircraft is intended.
Airbus recommends performing the following procedure when the aircraft is left unattended: i.e. no qualified flight crew or ground crew are in the cockpit to supervise and monitor the aircraft systems.
Prior to performing this check, the following SUP Adverse Weather procedures should be taken into account when appropriate: PRO-NOR-SUP-ADVWXR
  • Securing the aircraft for cold soak
  • Water system draining.
  • Operations on contaminated airports.
  • Operations with volcanic ash, sand or dust.

Wait until the APU flap is fully closed (about 2 min after APU AVAIL light goes out) before switching off the APU battery. Switching the batteries off before the APU flap is closed may cause smoke in the cabin during the next flight.

To ensure that the sliding window is correctly closed and locked, push the handle of the sliding window fully forward to the closed position, and verify that the red indicator is no longer visible.
